About the Event
Chemotherapy is difficult and demanding. Â This event will hopefully shed some light on what our heroes edure. Â There are different regimens, but the regimen Alex started with was one cycle of chemotherapy every 21 days. Â Q21d in the medical field stands for every 21 days. Â This event will have two workouts released 21 days apart, and each to be completed in a weeks time. Â The first workout, Chemo, is centered around introduction chemotherapy. Â The second workout, HD-ICE, programmed by Street Parking (Streetparking.com), raises awareness of the only chemotherapy that worked for Alex. Â This therapy was the only regimen that resulted in "marked improvement" in MRI scans. Â HD-ICE stands for High Dose Ifosfamide, Carboplatin, and Etoposide. Â All are chemotherapy drugs. Â
Proceeds from this event will go towards New Diagsosis Care Packages for new patients and their family. Â Staying in a hospital is no fun. Â These care packages will help make hospital stays more managable. Â Some items included in the care package are towels, blankets, pillows, outdoor shower mats, duffel bags, coffee, Aeropresses, and many other essential items. Â
